Government dental coverage

We Accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan

Your Burlington Dentist believes everyone deserves a healthy smile. We proudly welcome patients covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and are here to help you make the most of your benefits.

What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program designed to help Canadians who don't have dental insurance access the oral care they need. It covers many essential dental services — from checkups and cleanings to fillings and extractions.

At Burlington Dental, we are a participating CDCP provider. Our friendly team will walk you through your coverage, explain any out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins, and make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Who Can Apply for the CDCP?

To qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, you must meet all four of the following conditions:

You do not have any other dental insurance.
You and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable) have filed your Canadian tax returns.
Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000 per year.
You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
Important: Applications are open for children under 18, adults 18–34, adults 55 and over, and adults 35–54 with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate. Current CDCP members must renew their coverage before June 1, 2025 to stay covered for the 2025–2026 period.

How Much Does the CDCP Cover?

The amount the CDCP pays depends on your adjusted family net income. The lower your income, the more the plan covers.

Under $70,000100% of the CDCP-approved cost$0 (unless the dentist charges more than the approved rate)
